Greek and International Shipping
The course introduces our students to the Greek and International Commerical Shipping, and consists of two parts. The analytical context of the first part is the following: International Trade and International Maritime Transport: Exports and Imports of Goods and Services, and Balance of Payments, Elements of International Trade Theory, The Role of Exchange Rates, The Phases of the Business Cycle and their impact on International Trade, Current Trends in International Trade and Maritime Transport, Cargo moving by Sea, International Sea Transport Routes, International Organizations and Maritime Safety Regulations, International Maritime Transport as Exports and Imports of Services. And the analytical context of the second part is the following: Greek Economy and Shipping: The Evolution of International Trade of the Greek Economy (1960-1996), Brief illustration, Greek and Greek-owned Merchant Fleet, The Contribution of Shipping to the Greek Economy.
