The Theoretical and Applied Economics and Law (TAEL) Lab is a leading research unit (IDEAS, 2020) within the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the National Technical University of Athens, which ranks among the top Institutions in the world. It operates as a powerful “Research Hub” that brings together researchers with different backgrounds, ranging from the natural and mathematical sciences, computer science, and engineering, to psychology, sociology, political science, economics, econometrics and law.
“The Lab has been established with the intention to create a dynamic environment for research, theoretical and applied, in Economics, Econometrics and Finance, using state-of-the-art (a) historical, (b) mathematical, (c) quantitative, (d) computational, and (e) statistical models, methods and techniques”.

The Lab was officially established relatively recently, and some of its members have been doing research for several decades now, bringing with them a wealth of ideas and capabilities. Also, some of the Lab's members have mentored young scientists, engineers and economists, who currently hold positions in academia and industry. The TAEL Lab consists of leading experts in their fields, who have published extensively in their research areas, and have attracted generous funding from both local and international Institutions.
