Prof. Dr. George Economakis is a Professor of Political Economy at the Department of Business Administration, University of Patras, Greece. Also, he has acted as Assistant Professor at the University of the Aegean, Greece and as Visiting Professor at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) as well as at Panteion University, Greece. He teaches/has taught several courses including Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, Political Economy and Public Economics. His research focuses on Political Economy and the History of Economic Thought.
George has authored or co–authored six (6) books, as well as numerous articles in a peer-reviewed Journals and Conferences or appearing in working paper series, lecture notes, international conferences and edited volumes. His articles have appeared in scholarly Journals including Science & Society, History of Economic Ideas, History of Economics Review, Review of Radical Political Economics, East - West: Journal of Economics and Business, Critique, etc.
Prof. Dr. Economakis has participated in several international conferences as a speaker or a member of the Organizing and/or Programme Committee. In addition, he has participated in several funded research programs with a leading role.
George holds a PhD in Political Economy, an MSc in Regional Development both from Panteion University, and a BSc in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (UoA).
