Prof. Dr. Maria (Mania) S. Markaki has been elected Assistant Professor in the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Crete. Her research interests focus on Input-Output Economics, Labour Economics, Applied Econometrics, and Regional Development. Maria holds a PhD in Economics and a 5-year MEng in Mechanical Engineering, both from NTUA. Maria has authored numerous articles, including working paper series, lecture notes, international conference papers, books and edited volumes, in peer-reviewed Journals and conferences. Her articles have appeared in scholarly Journals such as: Energy Policy, Economic System Research, Journal of Cleaner Production, Review of Radical Political Economics, Bulletin of Political Economy, International Journal of Urban Planning and Transportation, etc. Finally, she has participated in numerous national and European competitively funded research projects and currently acts as a referee for several scholarly Journals.
