Prof. Dr. Dimitris Sotiropoulos is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the Open University (OU) Business School, United Kingdom; Director of the History and Political Economy (HYPE) of Business and Finance research cluster, and co-leader of the Open Political Economy Group (OPEG), at the Open University. Also, he has acted as lecturer and researcher in various academic institutions in the United Kingdom (Kingston University), Germany (Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies) and Greece (University of the Aegean, and University of Patras). Dimitris teaches/has taught, among other courses, Introduction to Corporate Finance, and Research Methods for Finance. His research focuses on the Political Economy of Derivatives Markets, the Social Aspects of Risk Management, the History of Financial Innovation and the History of Economic Thought.
Prof. Dr. Sotiropoulos has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed Journals, or appearing in working paper series, lecture notes, international conferences and edited volumes. His articles have appeared in scholarly Journals including: Economic History Review, Business History, European Journal of the History of Economic Thought, Review of Political Economy, Review of Radical Political Economics, Enterprise and Society, Accounting History Review, etc. Also, he has authored or co–authored four (4) books.
